In September, IKEBANA INTERNATIONAL Berlin hosted a special ikebana workshop centered on the concept of forest bathing. It was a wonderful opportunity to discover two Japanese-inspired practices that invite us to pause, look more closely, and become more aware of the beauty of nature.

Once again, I headed to Vienna—my favorite city—for a workshop, right after Berlin. This time, the flight went smoothly, so I was able to attend all of the professor’s demonstrations on Friday and go over and prepare my materials.

Summer shows itself in its most beautiful colors – in bright flowers, rich green and the warm light of long days. It was precisely this particular mood that was the focus of the online exhibition „The Colors of Summer“.

The flight to Vienna on February 20 was supposed to be a relaxing trip, but it turned into a 16-hour ordeal. Snow, delays, and endless waiting. Snow chaos the likes of which Austria hadn’t seen since 2005 brought Vienna International Airport to a standstill and put travelers’ patience to the test.

On January 17, 2026, Ikebana International Berlin welcomed the Year of the Firehorse with a special New Year's workshop of the Sogetsu Branch in Oberkrämer/Vehlefanz in Brandenburg.

European Member Seminar with Exhibition was the invitation from our Ikenobō headquarters to an ikebana event in Vienna. It began with a seminar for special members, followed by a one-day workshop for regular members and a demonstration by our seminar leader, Prof. Takashi Moribe. The event concluded with an exhibition open to the public at the JUFA Hotel.

Freshly arrived: The ikebana Calendar and the new edition 'Ikebana in the Change of Seasons' with Ikenobo Ikebana arrangements and inspiring words for a mindful path through a fulfilled and joyful year 2025. An inspiration for the soul in the change of seasons.

The new virtual Ikebana art exhibition of the Ikebana Bundesverband (IBV) on the theme 'Wilhelm Busch' is online. Once again this year, the IBV called on its members to create an ikebana on a given theme. This year's theme: the poet and illustrator Wilhelm Busch.
